Jam Jar Shelves

A collection of glass jam jars screwed to the underside of a shelf, creating a storage space for the clutter that would normally lurk in our domestic environment. The jars can be easily unscrewed and filled with new objects. Jam Jar Shelf was originally created for Perimeter Art and Design Galerie, Paris in which I filled the jars with some of my most personal items so that the piece became highly autobiographical.

These shelves were inspired by a friend on my BA sculpture course who said ‘you’re going to end up as one of those old men who keep screws in jam jars screwed under a shelf’.
