These are smaller cabinets in the ongoing Cleft series, a creative collaboration with the respected company Hinoki Kougei, in particular the highly regarded craftsman Tadanori Tozawa. The Cleft series feature large logs split in two to create vertically symmetrical facades. These cabinets in different wood species are proportioned as traditional family portraits and are designed to be hung next to each other.
Thes cabinets were commissioned by Sarah Myerscough Gallery and are now in the permanent collection of Le Centre National des Arts Plastiques (Cnap), France.
