The Stone grinder is formed from a single flint stone cast into a block of concrete. Concrete is created from crushed stone. Here one stone forms the other to create a Neolithic crushing device. The crusher forms the crushed.

The Stone grinder was created for the exhibition ‘Perfume, Sir?’ hosted by Design Marketo during the London Design Festival 2013. The exhibition was based around the scent of a perfume, which was itself based on the scent of pepper.

I was asked to design a pepper grinder by the guys at Design Marketo for the show... I guess it could be used for this purpose but in an emergency only.
