Orphaned Words

These 3D printed objects are representations of items that have become disassociated from their described material origins:
A glass, an iron, china, a can of Coke, tea, glasses, a plaster, an orange, some chilli, mince meat.

The objects were created for the exhibition DESIDERABILIA_About Desirable Things. Curated by Barbara Brondi & Marco Rainò for IN Residence - Design Dialogues

A glass does not have to be made of glass.

An iron is no longer made of iron.

China no longer comes from China.

Coke does not contain coke anymore.

You do not have to have tea for your tea.

Glasses are usually made of plastic.

A plaster is not made of plaster.

An orange does not have to be orange.

Chilli does not have to be made with chillis.

Mince meat does not contain meat.
